There are a plethora of myths surrounding Homoeopathy which have been used to discredit this highly efficacious healing art and science. Here is an attempt to clear all the myths and facts about homeopathy so as to understand this science in a better way.
#1 Myth – Allopathic or other treatment cannot be taken with Homeopathy
Fact: This is a misconception. If a person is on long-continued allopathic treatment, especially steroids or “life-saving drugs”, discontinuing the medicine abruptly might cause a sudden increase in the intensity of his symptoms. So the best way is to reduce the dosage of allopathic medicine gradually as the improvement starts & then stop them.
#2 Myth – Onion/garlic, tea/coffee are restricted with homeopathic medicine
Fact: Few physicians restrict the intake of onion, garlic, tea, coffee etc. along with homeopathic medicine. But the researches have shown that there is no effect of such things on the efficacy of the medicine if these are taken in moderation & a significant gap is maintained between them & the medicine. Homeopathic medicines act well on patients habituated to coffee and betel. Like in Indian people habitually consume coffee and Homeopathic medicines are also widely consumed with appreciable results.
#3 Myth – Homeopathy is a “Slow Acting System”
Fact: The action of medicine depends on whether the disease is acute or chronic. Acute diseases are of recent origin, e.g. cold, fever, a headache that develop very quickly and if the correctly selected medicine is given that develop very quickly and if the correctly selected medicine is given to the patient, it produces very quick results. The chronic diseases are those which have a long history, e.g. Bronchitis, Asthma, Eczema, Arthritis etc. These occur as a result of continuous suppression by other systems of medicine or when the acute diseases have not been treated properly. These type of chronic diseases will definitely require some time to be cured.
#4 Myth – Disease increases after taking treatment
Fact: Everyone knows that homeopathic medicines are given on the basis of symptom similarity. The primary action of the medicine may be observed by the patient as an aggravation of his disease but in the true sense, it is only homeopathic aggravation which is a part of the curative process. When using allopathic medicines simultaneously do not withdraw them suddenly but taper them off.
#5 Myth – Homeopathic medicines should not be touched
Fact: One can always take the medicines on one’s hand provided the hands are clean.
#6 Myth – Homeopathy is only good for children
Fact: Homeopathic medicines are equally good for children and adults. If homeopathic treatment is given to children right from the beginning, it not only helps to remove the disease completely but also increases their resistance and prevents the disease from becoming chronic, thereby, developing stronger generations.
#7 Myth – Pathological & other investigations are not required in homeopathy.
Fact: Although for initial homeopathic prescription investigations are not required but to treat the case holistically and to know about its prognosis appropriate investigations are a must. They also help in proper management of the case and its follow up.
#8 Myth – Single medicine is the first choice as per homeopathic principles but the complex symptom picture presented by the patient makes it difficult to prescribe the similimum at times.
Fact: These medicines are dispensed in user-friendly vials containing hygienically medicated globules and packed with utmost care to give you the best quality medication at an affordable cost. We have endeavored to cover ailments of four major systems of the body and also taken care of miscellaneous complains as a separate entity. Break open the seal of the vial by turning it upside down and rotating the cap in the direction of the marked arrow. Twist the cap in either direction to get the required quantity of globules in the cap as per dosage. In case an extra number of globules are received in the cap they can be taken back in the vial by straightening the vial in an upright position and twisting the cap in either direction to get the desired number for consumption. Then gently pull out the cap to take the globules on the tongue, consequently dissolve them in the mouth.
